Vision: Oruj Learning Center (OLC) envisions Afghanistan in which all men and women have equal access to educational, social, political and economical opportunities.  Furthermore, OLC aspires to create an Afghan community that values, respects and encourages the tremendous capacities of women and their contributions to Afghan culture and society. 

 

Mission: The Oruj Learning Center is a women-led nonprofit organization established in 2002 to provide girls and women with equal access to all level of education throughout Afghanistan. Oruj believes that educating women and girls is key to empowering them to fully participate in and equally contribute to Afghan society.  The Oruj also realizes that no society is just if it promotes gender-based discrimination of any kind. Thus, Oruj values the education of boys and understands that today’s well-educated youth will have a greater understanding of each other and are the bright leaders of tomorrow.
